Track Biography:
The Waterford Foxhounds annual point-to-point fixture is ran on the grounds of the beautiful Curraghmore Estate in Portlaw.
Curraghmore House is the historic home of the 9th Marquis of Waterford. Some 2,500 acres of formal gardens, woodland and grazing fields make this the largest private demense in Ireland and one of the finest places to visit.
Their annual fixture is traditionally held during Easter but since 2020 they now also have an Autumn fixture which takes place in October.

By Road
From Dungarvan - take N25 towards Waterford. Approx 2 km after exit for Kilmacthomas, turn left onto the L305. Continue straight on for 6 km. At Y junction, bear right and follow straight on to Ballyquin Cross. Turn right into Curraghmore Estate.
From Waterford / Wexford - Don’t go for Portlaw!!!! Take N25 from toll bridge or R680 from Waterford city towards Dungarvan. At Portlaw/Carrick roundabout, take the N25 towards Dungarvan. Don’t go for Portlaw. Continue on for 12 km. Turn right onto the L3055. Continue straight on for 6 km. At Y junction, bear right and follow straight on to Ballyquin Cross. Turn right into Curraghmore Estate.
From Carrick–on-Suir – head for Dungarvan on the R676. Take left turn onto Kilmacthomas road to Ballyquin Cross. Turn left into Curraghmore Estate.

We provide free parking for all patrons attending the races. Accommodations can be made for disabled parking, please just notify a parking attendee on arrival.
There is a betting ring located close to the parade ring, allowing racegoers to throw an eye over the runners before decided on what horse warrants a wager. Off-course betting on Irish and UK race meetings is available.
Toilet facilities are situated around the track.

If you would prefer to leave the work up to someone else, why not check out our onsite food providers. Offering a range of fast food including burgers, chips and sausages there will sure to be something for everyone.

As our Spring fixture is held over the Easter holidays, our point-to-point offers the perfect location for a weekend away with the family. We are located half an hour drive from Waterford city, which makes it extremely accessible for visitors to combine a city break with a day out in the countryside.

Rob James has started the new season in good form as both a handler and rider, and he could add to his tally on both fronts in this courtesy of CONMAN JOHN. He made a promising debut when third at Dawstown in May and will hold leading prospects here. Fukkatsu Enki brings more recent form, having finished a close fourth in a slowly-run Loughrea maiden, which came on the same weekend that King Du Brivet finished third behind an impressive winner at Portrush. He could prove to be the biggest threat.

Connections of DIXIE MAFIA might have expected to have already won their maiden with him by now, given that he looked assured of success at Comea back in February when coming down at the last. Things have not gone his way since, but following the summer break, he could gain an overdue first win here. Wild Nephin is another with plenty of experience, and he ended last season with a near personal best, whilst City Slippers was only beaten by two lengths at Ballingarry, and is capable of better than his Toomebridge return.

Six and a half lengths separated them in Punchestown, and Lifetime Ambition will be expected to confirm the form. Wonderwall was an easy winner on stable debut at Loughrea and adds further depth to a potentially very competitive heat.

The two horses that finished behind her on that occasion have both since won their maidens since, and she should add to that here. The track-placed Kilrush Lady disappointing on her first start in this sphere at Castletown-Geoghegan but is likely better than that effort, whilst Annie Questions is another horse that brings track form into this having finished second at Listwowel during the summer.
